The Institute of Research in European Studies (IRES) is a center of academic excellence founded by two distinguished Jean Monnet Professors, Prof. Dr. Habil. Simion Costea and Prof. Dr. Habil. Mihaela Daciana Natea, with the mission of promoting interdisciplinary research and academic dialogue in the field of European studies.
The Institute organizes international scientific conferences, carries out research projects focused on European integration, security, law, and governance, and coordinates the academic journal L’Europe Unie / United Europe. This international journal, founded in 2007 by Prof. Dr. Simion Costea and Prof. Dr. Michel Labori (France), is published in Paris and represents a collaboration between the Institute and academic institutions from France, Romania, Estonia, and Portugal (leuropeunie.com).
Through these activities, the Institute significantly contributes to the development of knowledge and understanding of European processes, strengthening the role of the European Union in today’s global context.
